The FLSA imposes the following overtime pay requirements:rn1. Time and one-half must be paid for time worked in excess of 40 hours during the workweek. See 834.rn2. Compensable overtime hours must be figured each workweek. See 835.rn3. Overtime must be paid on the basis of the regular rate, with exceptions. See 839.rn4. Premium pay must not be offset against FLSA overtime pay liability unless it qualifies as a statutory credit. See 844.rn5. Overtime should be paid on the regular payday. See 846.rn6. Straight time must be paid to satisfy the statutory overtime pay requirements. See 848.rn7. Overtime pay must not be considered waived unless certain restrictions are satisfied. See 850.rn8.
