摘要

The House oversight committee on March 26 passed legislation to help formerly incarcerated individuals obtain work with the federal government and federal contractors. H.R. 1076, the Fair Chance Act, would prohibit federal agencies and contractors from inquiring into the criminal history of job applicants (for non-sensitive federal jobs) until after a conditional offer of employment has been made.The Subcommittees on Government Operations and Civil Rights and Civil Liberties held a hearing on the "ban-the-box" bill on March 13. The bill, as amended, passed the committee by voice vote.
