California Governor Gavin Newsom on September 30 signed AB 378 to give child care workers the right to joina union and collectively bargain with the state. This legislation will allow an estimated 40,000 child care workerswho provide care in home settings to join care providers in 11 other states who are able to negotiate with thestate for improvements to the early childhood education system.
