Terry Fulp is the new deputy regional director for the Lower Colorado Region of the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation. Fulp oversees programs that implement activities on the lower Colorado River, including water delivery, accounting, and contracting. He also is responsible for the region's water conservation program and the Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program. A 19-year Reclamation employee, Fulp has been involved in Colorado River operations and management issues, working with other federal and state agencies and stakeholders on issues related to management and use of the river. Previously, Fulp was area manager of the Boulder Canyon Operations Office. He managed the basin-wide effort to develop additional operational guidelines for lakes Powell and Mead, minimizing the effects of drought. Fulp earned a doctorate in mathematical and computer sciences from the Colorado School of Mines and holds degrees in civil engineering, geophysics, and earth sciences.
