On 16th October this year the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, and his Norwegian counterpart Jens Stoltenberg, will preside over the official opening ceremony of the Langeled gas pipeline. The pipeline is an important part of the Ormen Lange project, which has regularly featured in the Corporate Members section of The Hydrographic Journal over the last few years. The opening ceremony in London, hosted by the development operator Norsk Hydro, will mark the completion of the southern part of the pipeline between the Sleipner field and the UK reception facility in Easington.
