摘要

The multipole magnetization of the permanent magnet components in an electrical magnet machine is a key stage in its manufacture, and can exert a considerable influence on the final machine performance. Accurate design of the magnetizing fixture is essential if the properties of the permanent magnet material are to be fully exploited. A comprehensive design methodology is presented for radial-field multipole impulse magnetizing fixtures, which embraces all the various facets from the initial specification to the modeling of the performance of the machine into which the magnet is ultimately incorporated. The various techniques used in the design synthesis are validated by means of a case study on a 4-pole brushless permanent magnet machine, which also serves to highlight the utility of an integrated approach to the design of the magnetizing fixture and the machine.
