An equivalent concentric-ring ultrasound phased array method wasndeveloped to estimate ultrasonic continuous wave fields generated bynaxisymmetric single-source transducers. The method models a given sourcenas a concentric-ring phased array by mathematically segmenting it intonmany rings and subsequently finding the amplitude and phase for eachnring that produces an acoustic field similar to the field of thensingle-source transducer. The excitation source of each ring wasncalculated using an inverse technique based on complex pressurenmeasurements along a radial line close to the source. The predictingnabilities of the method are evaluated by comparing measured andnestimated ultrasound fields for six different transducers. The resultsnshow that the concentric-ring equivalent phased array method (CREPAM) isnable to estimate quantitatively the ultrasound fields generated by largenaxisymmetric planar and focused transducers
