摘要

Two types of errors resulting from the numerical evaluation of antransducer's spatial impulse response function have been identified, Onenis geometric and is due to the mismatch between the emulated pistonnsurface (approximated using many small planar elements) and the truensurface. The other error is algebraic and is due to the inexactnformulation of the response of the emulated surface. The deviations fromnthe true response were calculated for three different pistons. Thenresults indicate that the shape and placement of the elements arenimportant for the computational accuracy
