Our instructors told us that good instrument flying was the culmination of preparation, anticipation, and execution. The reward is a flight that unfoldsrnsmoothly and without surprises. No matter how much we prepare, and how well we anticipate ATC's grand plan, sooner or later something upsets the apple cart, and the planning becomes a fairy tale.
