When VORs were the pri-mary navigation tool, once a pilot learned the principles he or she could easily switch between aircraft with avionics from different manufacturers. GPS changed that comfort level; at least until some standardization comes to GPS. In the interim, the holy grail of GPS is a navigator that has powerful features and capabilities, but is also easy to use. The GNS 480 has those very powerful features and, in my opinion, is as easy to use as you could reasonably ask for.
