Following is the Summary of BIMCO/ISF Report on "2000 Manpower Update" on world-wide Demand for and Supply of merchant Seafarers prepared in co-operation with the Institute for Employment Research, University of Warwick, U. K. Mr. Sudhir J. Mulji, President, INSA was the Chairman of the Steering Committee under whose guidance the Report was prepared. The report is a comprehensive study of the world-wide Demand for and Supply of Seafarers, following the previous studies on the subject conducted in 1990 and 1995. (Summary Reports of earlier studies in 1990 and 1995 have been published in "Indian Shipping" Vol 44 - Nos. 4-5 pp 19-21 and Vol 47. Nos 11-12 pp 13-16 respectively).
