Executive coaching is often seen as higher grade coaching that is the sole prerogative of the high-flying executive, accompanied on hallowed ground by the mystical executive coach. However, the foundation stones for executive coaching - quality integrated thinking, confidentiality, trust - are equally important to all its people if an organisation is to perform well financially and sustainably. Although much is made of empowerment, it is still the case that most organisations are fearful of a powerful workforce. What would happen if everyone in the company became his/her own executive? By redefining "power" as a source of energy rather than as a pressure point, and by making executive coaching available to everyone, a company would develop a myriad "choice muscles". This in turn would give the company access to the power of dilemma identification and reconciliation, the highest grade fuel there is to release organisational and individual potential.
