The 2006 outlook for specialty textile end products in the United States is positive. Due to the wide variety of products that fall under the specialty textile umbrella, growth rates for each specific market vary. As most businesses grow in tandem with the U.S. economy, it is encouraging that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is forecasted to rise by at least 3.5 percent in 2006. According to feedback from various specialty textile trade shows and surveys, more than half of respondents expect business to be somewhat or significantly better in 2006. (See Figure 1.)
