摘要

The Automotive Materials Association (AMA), a division of the Industrial Fab-rics Association International, may not be a household name. However, the test standards it writes help to produce better, more durable materials used in the cars that we all drive. These materials include: fabric (seating, flooring, headliners etc.), exterior coatings, plastic trim components, and dashboard panels. AMA is responsible for writing new Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) test methods and keeping existing SAE test methods up-to-date with current testing technology. AMA's internal committees work hand in hand with SAE, which provides the formal network for balloting and industry acceptance of these test methods and standards. AMA makes up the SAE Textiles and Flexible Plastics Committee. The standards the AMA works on cover a range of material performance issues.
