According to a National Library of Israel report, publishing in Israel is rising up and up, with a 35% increase in book titles published over the past 10 years. The report, which examines the country's book publishing output for 2018, shows that 8,571 titles were published last year, 879 more than in 2017. Some 2,245 more titles were published in 2018 than in 2008. The book counts do not include ebooks or dissertations. Nevertheless, the library says it received 430 new ebooks and 550 audiobooks last year. It also says that 91% of books cataloged at the library were written in Hebrew, while 3.9% were in English, 2.9% were in Arabic, and 1.1% were in Russian. "All told," states the report, "a total of 22 lan- guages, including among others German, French, Dutch and Romanian, were represented among Israeli publications."
