CAMOUFLAGE: The name for a cellphone service that provides background noise, such as noise from a traffic jam, to enable the phone's owner to say with authority, "Sorry, I'll be 2 hours late; I'm stuck in traffic" (while actually sitting at a cafe). This type of service can also generate a ringtone in the middle of a conversation (seeming to signal an incoming call), providing a plausible excuse for ending the current call.
