摘要

Cultural competence has been an important concern for libraries in recent years, as has library service to Latino populations. Latinos in Libraries, Museums, and Archives: Cultural Competence in Action! An Asset-Based Approach combines these concepts to share how we can best work with our Latino users. Cultural competence refers to an appreciation of the qualities and assets of diverse groups, leading to more culturally appropriate programs and services. This book teaches us how to develop and improve cultural competence in ourselves and our institutions, specifically with regard to Latino patrons.
