A couple of months ago, I saw an article discussing the results of a survey of 2,290 parents that found the "average American child" gets his or her first cellphone at age 6 (bit.ly/1VCHRnI). Wow. Over the years, I've mostly worked with people who are younger than me (a group that, of course, grows larger as I grow older). Many of them are now just starting families or are parents of toddlers and small children. Quite frankly, I think it's harder to raise a kid in this day and age, and my heart goes out to all of them.
