Thomson Reuters named Basil Moftah as the new president of its Intellectual Property & Science business effective Jan. 1, 2014. Moftah was formerly the managing director for the Middle East, Africa, and Russia region of Thomson Reuters' Global Growth & Operations. After he began working for Thomson Reuters in 1997, Moftah went on to earn an M.B.A. at Harvard Business School before rejoining the company as head of business direct in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Moftah's Thomson Reuters career has brought him to work in several countries, including Dubai, the U.K., Italy, and Switzerland.
