2014 has certainly been a challenging year in terms of the weather, as pretty much everyone in the U.S. can attest. As I write this, we're hours away from another major snowstorm, which will be our fourth this year. Conference-goers who attended the ALA Midwinter Meeting Jan. 24-28 in Philadelphia also got a taste of the frozen white stuff; you can read more about this event in the Report From the Field starting on page 16. This month's features include a conversation between ITIVP of content Dick Kaser and Cengage executives Michael Hansen and Jim Dono-hue ("Strategically Schizo: Cengage Execs Discuss Market Realities"), an exploration of the Electronic Frontier Foundation ("EFF: At the Crossroads of Technology and Digital Liberty"), and information on using personal devices at work ("BYOD or COPE: The Best Mobile Strategy for the Workplace").
