When the cover story "The Web Is Dead. Long Live the Internet" appeared in the August 2010 issue of Wired magazine, it generated a maelstrom of controversy. At the time, authors Chris Anderson and Michael Wolff forecast the rise of mobile apps over the World Wide Web and sparked a debate that still carries on today.
