We all know by now that publishing is going through more growing pains. While ebooks and tablets have kept the focus on the fate of print books, less attention has been given to the smaller market of academic scholarly materials in the humanities and the social sciences. I am using the word "materials" here for a reason. While the social sciences and humanities have not exactly been left behind when it comes to alternative open access (OA) models, the attention grabber has always been the sciences.
