Text mining is now being used to analyze large scholarly information collections, according to Clifford Lynch, executive director of the Coalition for Networked Information. In his opening keynote at the Charleston Conference last November, he described some of the issues surrounding this trend. In fact, he sees the increasing amount of available digital information changing and even straining our current understandings of scholarly communication.
