摘要

The author-publisher relationship is changing. The use of blogs has exploded and podcasts are growing in popularity. Authors are empowered; anyone can be a publisher. Even microblogging systems such as Twitter have become a valid communication medium in commercial or professional environments. How did this happen? David Perlmut-ter, author of Blogwars and keynote speaker at the Top Management Roundtable (TMR) of the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) in Philadelphia, offered a few answers at the meeting in September.
