Now, Hong Kong stands a good chance to more than offset reductions of such flows by securing a major role in development of a massive multi-country initiative being launched by China, called the Belt and Road project (also known as One Belt, One Road). [See map] Spanning 65 countries and 60 percent of the worlds population, this Silk Road revival is expected to require funding of $8 trillion through to 2020 and is meant to redefine the world's trading blocs.
