Despite these problems, Lebanon is expected to post economic growth of 2.5 percent for 2013, having dodged a recession last year with a revised GDP of 1.5 percent. Furthermore, the International Monetary Fund expects the four million people in Lebanon to see their economy grow by 4 percent next year if political and security conditions in the region improve. "Two years after the Arab Spring commenced, many countries of the Middle East and North Africa are still undergoing complex political, social and economic transitions," says Freddie Baz, group chief financial officer and strategy director for Bank Audi sal - Audi Saradar Group in Beirut.
