Frequent borrowers report that the structure of their investor bases is changing. "We are seeing a shift in our investor base, which is leading to books being made up of a larger number of smaller tickets from high quality real money accounts," says Carlos Ferreira da Silva, Head of Euro Funding at EIB's Luxembourg headquarters. "The result is that we have to adapt to an environment in which we won't routinely seernnew benchmarks generating orders of as much as €8 billion or more, which has been the case in recent years. Instead, more frequent but smaller deals are getting done."rnWhile borrowers such as EIB and KfW can probably continue to depend on robust central bank demand, that is not a luxury shared by all frequent borrowers. "A number of large central banks have been reducing their reserves to defend their currencies," says Guy Reid, Head of Frequent Borrower coverage at UBS in London.
