History has proven that both privately held and publicly traded companies can be highly successful. People tend to think that individual decisions will be made more advantageously by a private company and less so by a public company, leading to success or failure. Private and public are simply two different business models requiring different motivational and operational systems. Success for either is based on the decisions made by management. Having one dominant seat of power within a public or a private company is far more important. Not having that one dominant seat of power can lead to confusion. And more private companies than public ones tend to have that one dominant shareholder.
