Venezuela's proposal to create a multipolar world is based on principles of complementariness, solidarity, and integration. The main asset offered by Venezuela is an energy package that supports sustained development and a strong economy, promoting energy security and quality of life for all nations. The strategic use of energy to foster multipolarity received a boost with the recently signed bilateral agreements between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Brazil, Argentina, China, India, Russia, Jamaica, Uruguay, Iran, and Qatar, and with corporations from France, Spain, Russia, and the United States. Venezuela has again asserted its role as a preferred partner and a reliable supplier of energy for the international community. Guided by the new strategic map and approach referred to as "The Leap Forward," the government of President Hugo Chavez Frias has placed special emphasis on executing a set of memoranda of understanding concerning energy, agriculture, and mining to foster mutual international cooperation.
