The strong US presence at the Japan Aerospace 2016 reflects the close co-operation between the two countries. The Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) is also making a strong pitch for co-operation at the show. For Japan there is an urgent need to bolster the aerospace and defence industry, and US$51 billion has been earmarked for the purpose.
