With over 10,000 commercial airplanes in service, undoubtedly Boeing has a wide portfolio of products to offer its worldwide customers. But while the worldwide passenger traffic is witnessing a paradigm shift, India is on the radar of most manufacturers as the next big impetus for the aviation industry. To put things in perspective, according to Boeing there is a requirement for 1,740 new airplanes, valued at $240 billion, over the next 20 years in India. And as of end of last month Indian carriers have publicly announced 350 Boeing airplanes, which are part of direct purchases from the manufacturer.
