Rolls-Royce have consistently had a dominant position at the top-end of the commercial turbofan market for a number of years. Their Trent family of engines power a number of aircraft like the Airbus A330, A340, A350, A380, and the Boeing B787, B747 and the B777. The Trent has been the best-selling engine on most of these aircraft where there has been a choice of engines, and has been increasingly gaining ground in the market.
