The Indian Navy has been strengthening the fighter wing of its stable by current deliveries from Russia of MiG-29K/ KUB multifunctional ship-born fighters. In December 2012 the MiG Corporation started deliveries of a second batch out of 29 a/c to be supplied according to the contract of 2010. The previous deliveries of 16 MiG-29K/KUB had been implemented during 2009 - 2011 as per the contract of 2004. In sum 45 MiG-29K/KUB of the IN will operate as a part of aviation groups both on the board of "Vikramaditya" aircraft carrier, which is being nowadays developed and tested in Russia, and boards of aircraft carriers of Indian origin. MiG-29K (single-seated) multi-role ship-born fighter and MiG-29KUB (double-seated) multi-role ship-born fighter belong to aircraft of «4++» generation. They have got a modern glider with a great deal of composites used, a digital complex electro-remote control system with fourfold reservation, a low profile on the radar screen, an increased fuel tanks and an open architecture of on-board radio-electronic equipment.
