Profitable low cost carrier, IndiGo, with the biggest domestic market share of 29.8 per cent as of April 30, 2013, is boosting its fleet with 28 more Airbus A320 aircraft by end of next year. The Civil Aviation Ministry has given it the nod to import the planes and this would give the airline a fleet strength of 94-aircraft fleet. This year 16 planes will come in and the rest 12 by 2014. In 2012, it had inducted 12 planes. The additional aircraft would enable IndiGo to enhance its network with more number of flights within India and abroad. In 2011, the company had signed a $15 billion deal with European aircraft manufacturer Airbus for buying 180 A320 aircraft, which was the biggest ever single firm order of that time.
