The French President Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy visited India from 4th to 7th of December. On this occasion, DCNS CEO Patrick Boissier visited MDL shipyard in Mumbai. The visit of President Sarkozy gives an opportunity to reaffirm the close and dynamic ties existing between the Indian industries and the DCNS Group. In Mumbai, MDL is building six Scorpene submarines to be delivered to the Indian Navy under the P75 programme. The DCNS Group is in charge of the transfer of technology and of know-how (ToT) to MDL for the six submarines. Vice Admiral H.S. Malhi, CMD, MDL said "To date, MDL is done with the hulls of the first and second submarines while third and fourth hulls are progressing very well.
