The number of EU countries levying some form of carbon tax on passenger vehicles has nearly doubled since 2006, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association said April 21.rnFigures published on the association's website showed that 17 out of 27 countries in the European Union apply a vehicle carbon tax, up from nine countries in 2006. In addition, 15 EU countries provide financial incentives for electric vehicles, the association said.
