摘要

France's Sustainable Development Ministry Dec. 6 announced a temporary suspension on the sale of the only genetically-modified crop now authorized for cultivation in Europe but promised that Monsanto's MON 810 maize seed could be reinstated in early-2008, after passage of new legislation by Parliament. Sustainable Development Minister Jean-Louis Borloo said the temporary ban was proof that the government is working toward planned modification of the regulatory framework on genetically modified crops, as promised during a national environmental policy summit last October (30 INER 841, 10/31/07).
