摘要

Paris-France's Sustainable Development Ministry Dec. 6 announced a temporary suspension on the sale of the only genetically modified crop now authorized for cultivation in Europe but promised that Monsanto's MON 810 maize seed could be reinstated in early 2008, after passage of new legislation by Parliament. Sustainable Development Minister Jean-Louis Borloo said the temporary ban was proof that the government was working toward planned modification of the regulatory framework on genetically modified crops, as promised, during a national environmental policy summit in October (31 CRR 1026, 10/29/07).
