Polyester staple fibers continue to offer promising market potential. The polyester staple fiber market is growing at a yearly rate of about 6%. According PCI market forecasts, installed production capacities will increase from 9 million tons in 2000 to 11.6 million tons in 2005.rnTo meet this expected target, about 10 staple fiber lines with a capacity of 150 tons per day have to be built each year. But at the same time, competition is increasing and margins are decreasing. To be competitive, cost-efficient production and superior quality are of crucial importance.
