摘要

The fourth industrial revolution is underway. An industrial revolution affects technological, industrial, economic, social, and cultural landscapes of our society. That means every nook and corner of our social life will witness its impact. One of the key drivers to Industrial Revolution 4.0 is artificial intelligence. Research in this area is leading to intelligent systems which have a wide spectrum of applications in industry, health care, business, finance, sports, entertainment, transportation, defense, education, and space technology. Technological innovations lead to new type of entrepreneurship, industry and job opportunity which are required to be brought about for the growth and development of any society. That makes AI as hot research area. This conference, "Intelligent Systems: Approaches, Technologies and Networks" is an attempt to keep pace with the growing need for this all-important area. The International Journal of Distributed Artificial intelligence (IJDAI) is releasing its special issue as volume 11, issue 1. This issue presents selected papers on the topics like fuzzy clustering, biometrics, artificial neural network, machine learning, etc.
