Voith Hydro has been awarded a contract by Chenab Valley Power Projects (CVPP) for the supply of the electro-mechanical equipment for the 1000 MW Pakal Dul hydroelectric project in India's northern state of Jammu and Kashmir. Under the contract, which was signed this January but announced on 14 March, the engineering group will supply four 250 MW Francis turbines and generators, together with auxiliary equipment, for the project, which is being built on the river Marusadar, the main tributary of the Chenab river, in Kishtwar district.
