The Clean Energy Regulator (CER) of Australia has approved enough capacity to guarantee that the country's Large-scale Renewable Energy Target (LRET) of 33 000 GWh/year will be met in 2020, according to CER Chairman David Parker. The regulator stated that 6.4 GW of large-scale renewable capacity had to be built between 2017 and 2019 to generate sufficient electricity to meet the target.
