US utility Green Mountain Power (GMR) has been refurbishing its 34.5 MW Proctor hydropower plant, in Vermont. The modernization project included renovating the power and control systems, which was undertaken and recently completed by Eaton. The plant has five units, each with a capacity of 6.9 MW, and was constructed early last century. The project will help GMR manage the plant remotely, improve reliability and reduce costs.
