A unit of the Brazilian industrial organization Odebrecht has won a 50-year concession to design, build, maintain and operate the 213 MW Chan Ⅱ hydro project in Panama. The State-owned utility Egesa awarded the project to Odebrecht Energy Luxembourg, the lone participant in the auction, which submitted a bid of US$ 1.05 billion. Odebrecht Energy Luxembourg will hold a 77 per cent stake in the project and the Panamanian Government will have the remaining interest.
