The 2014 Stockholm Water Prize was awarded to Dr John Briscoe, currently visiting Professor of Environmental Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University, USA; throughout his career he has been a leading figure in the world water community. The Stockholm Water Prize Committee stated that Prof Briscoe had "combined world-class research with policy implementation and practice, to improve the development and management of water resources as well as access to safe drinking water and sanitation."
