Aquamarine Power is now gathering real-time wave data at its Oyster 800 test site, to help the firm produce more accurate energy forecasts, optimize production and improve the design of its future Oyster 801 machine. The data are being gathered by two devices: an acoustic doppler current profiler (ADCP); and, an acoustic wave and current profiler (AWAC), which collect and transmit detailed wave information.
