The first unit at the Tocoma scheme on the Lower Caroni river, Venezuela, is to come on line later this year, according to the latest tech nical report from EDLECA. This scheme is in the south of Venezuela, in the State of Bolivar, 80 km upstream from the confluence of the Caroni and Orinoco rivers. The OIV Tocomo Consortium, made up of Odebrecht (50 per cent), Impregilo (40 per cent) and Vinccler (10 per cent), is constructing the project which is now 70 per cent completed.
