Swiss infrastructure group Implenia Norge, has been awarded a CHF 75 million (€ 62 million) contract by Norway's Otra Kraft to build the Brokke Nord hydropower station, close to Bykle in southern Norway. Implenia announced on 10 May that the project would involve the construction of a 50 m-high, 140 m-long dam, with vertical and horizontal curvature, and a 10 km-long tunnel with various intake shafts. The contracted work is to be completed by April 2014. The dam, at Sarvsfoss, is reportedly the largest such project in Norway to receive approval from the authorities in the last 30 years.
