Vietnam's state-owned power utility Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) secured additional financing for its Lai Chau hydroelectric power project with the signing in May of a loan agreement worth Dong 4.6 trillion (US$ 230 million) with the state- controlled Vietnam Development Bank. The VDB loan will cover initial work on the 1200 MW project in the Muong Te district of Lai Chau province.
