Statkraft announced in March the signing of an agreement with Global Investment Holdings, a Turkish holding company, for the acquisition of a 95 per cent stake in its hydro development subsidiary, Yesil Enerji. Yesil holds controlling interests in seven hydro projects with a total capacity of 633 MW and annual generation of about 2.1 TWh. Construction of the plants is expected to require an investment of €600-700 million. The transfer of the shares is expected to be completed in June.rnThe first of the seven projects, a 20 MW station at Cakit in southeastern Turkey, is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. Developmentrnof the other projects could begin in 2010. Four of the projects hold generation licences, and the remaining two are in the final stages of permitting.rnGlobal Enerji, the power sector division of Global Investment Holdings, in consortium with Sancak Enerji, was awarded a BOT concession for the 350 MW Cetin hydroand dam project on the Botan river in southeast Turkey in May 2007. Global, in consortia with other local partners, also has BOT licences for the 98 MW Kargi hydro plant in the north, the 36 MW Aksar-Bitlis project in the east and the 20 MW Camkoy and 44 MW Aksu projects both in the northeast.
